About the property:

Renovated terraced property with small walled courtyard behind lending itself to two levels. Access is through the house, so maintenance works must be simple.

Client brief:

Colourful, highly scented planting, cottage themed with winter structure. Dining terrace in sun, with focal point from lounge French doors.

Works:

Split the garden into two levels with a stone wall and wide coping to second as seating. Add paths and dining terrace in Indian stone.

Add feature trees or sculpture at end of each axis and plant with a mixture of roses, long interest perennials, herbs and sculptural shrubs. Clothe the walls with climbing roses and foliage plants.

Add bulbs to give a succession of interest from spring until late autumn.
